Sod Installation & Lawn Renovation
Panorama installs sod and renovates failing lawns across Wilmington and New Castle County. Sod gives you a finished lawn in a day, but it only knits in and survives if the ground under it is prepared properly, which means killing what is there, correcting the grade, and amending compacted soil before a single roll goes down.
If your lawn is failing because of shade, drainage, or grub damage, we will address the cause first. Laying sod over an unsolved problem just buys a green year.

We work out why the current lawn failed, because sod will fail the same way if the cause is still there.

Prepare
Strip, grade, amend, and fertilize. This is most of the labor and all of the difference.

Sod goes down within a day of being cut, laid tight and rolled for contact.
Common questions
How soon can I walk on new sod?
Light foot traffic after about two weeks, normal use after a month, once it has rooted enough that a corner does not lift when you tug it.
How much do I need to water new sod?
Daily and deeply for the first two weeks, then tapering. Under-watering in the first fortnight is the most common way new sod is lost.
Sod or seed?
Sod is faster, controls erosion immediately, and costs more. Seed is cheaper and offers more grass-type choice but needs a good window and patience. On slopes and in visible front yards we usually recommend sod.
